About me

A wide range of experience informs my psychology practice.

I’ve worked with various home school and educational co-op groups to build my knowledge of childhood educational development and parenting resources. I enjoyed teaching art fundamentals and ceramics while earning my Master’s degree from the University of North Georgia in Mental Health Counseling. After graduation, I built a private practice around play therapy, children’s emotional regulation, and parenting education. To further build my skill set for adults, I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at The University of Georgia and broadened my experience through community counseling agencies, college counseling centers, and The Regents Center psychological testing sites, focusing on anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma-focused healing and more. I have supported students at UGA in multiple capacities including through teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate students, UGA Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS), and advisement. Today, I serve the Athens area, focusing on individuals 16 and older with in person and tele-health services. My practice is rooted in the principles of developmental psychology, psychoanalysis, internal family systems approach, creativity/art-therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
